Boys Cross Country Takes 2nd Place at the Penn-Jersey League Championships

By Coach Terri Miller

Solebury School's Cross Country team attended the Penn-Jersey League Championship Meet on Thursday, November 1st, at Mill Creek Park (Willingboro, NJ). What perfect weather for racing!

The team put all they had into their last race of the season and at the finish line each and every runner finished with a personal record. The boys combined efforts earned them 2nd Place behind Doane Academy. Ben Bunting and Neptune Xu took home 5th and 8th place medals, respectively. Bunting, a captain, also broke a school record for this course with a time of 18:08.3, a record previously held by Devon Brewster '18 (18:11.7). Scoring runners for the team were Bunting (18:08.3), Xu (18:51.3), Erik Hallberg (18:58.4), Ken Guo (19:21) and Javon Brewster (19:22.5).

Freshmen Imojin Fury and Ali Eckstein ran like the wind and took over 5 and 4 minutes off their previous best times. It was a wonderful ending to the 2018 season. Congrats Spartans!!!
